Andrews Space is currently involved in the development of a portfolio of advanced technologies that enable revolutionary capabilities. Current efforts are funded both internally and through government grants and technology contracts.
Air Collection and Enrichment System: An enabling technology for replacing the Space Shuttle with a Boeing 747-class two stage to orbit fully-reusable launch system.
Ballute Reentry Technology: A revolutionary technology for recovering spacecraft and payloads from Low Earth Orbit.
Advanced Materials: Andrews has in-house capabilities for processing and evaluating Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMC) materials for aerobrake ballutes, acreage TPS, and deployable stuctures.
